First off, I'd like to apologize for my absence the whole weekend. My family came over for the "Family Weekend" event, and in the process I missed a lot of discussion for different proposals. I can see that alot of people are aiming for the documentary idea, but I came up with something of my own that might be a little different..... I had this already typed in my Microsoft Word, so its basically being sitting in my computer for a while now...
My Proposal
Collaberative ideas
*stop motion
*short film

I’ve had this idea in my head for a few weeks now…..and it hasn’t hit me until now that I can actually bring it to life with the money. It kind of excites me, actually. Anyway, enough of the blabbering and on to the proposal. I liked the idea of collaborating together in our class to think of a documentary/film we could work on, and I also liked Alyssa’s idea of creating a stop motion movie. So I basically put two and two together along with my idea of a film, and this is what I came up with:
Plot:
We have the story of girl who comes in to an art studio and wants to create a beautiful painting. But to create this painting, she must use a large white wall in order to bring her imagination to life. She goes through an art studio until she finds the door labeled, “photoshop” and sees that the amount of space in the room is perfect for her to work in. Inside the room, she has 4 doors. File, edit, window, and help. She also carries around a toolbag with her containing a paint brush, pencil, pen, paint bucket, lasso, etc. to make her masterpiece. If she needs more than one hand to help out with the picture, she can go to the Help door and pull out more people to paint the picture.
Characters:
*The mouse-
This character is the artist and creationist. She can use the brush tool to create ladders to climb up on to higher places, to stairs to get down. She can bend reality with just the stroke of a brush and bend things to her will. However, she is just one person. And creating one huge canvas will need more than just one helping hand. This role can be played by either male or female; there is no specific gender for it yet. The person to play this role must be willing to make funny animated expressions.
*Help-
A group of 4 or 5 people. Maybe more? Helps the mouse paint the rest of the painting and expand her ideas.
Setting:
*Inside Mac studios, the Photoshop room
What I want to try to accomplish with this film is to create something that goes against the laws of nature but in a fun way. I want to show that creativity can be fun and full of color. I haven’t quite decided on what the painting should be yet, but I’m currently coming up with the script for the plot. The first thing that comes to my mind is “going green,” so that it not only sends the message that we can make the world a better place, but it would also be good for our school to use to advertise. What we’ll need for make the film would be a greenscreen, a blank white room, video cameras (professional), and adobe after effects. The props included will be the toolbag that contains the same items the photoshop program holds. Will probably add more props to use for the film if we find some technical difficulties.
budget:
Green Screen – depending on the size
60x5 yards = $105
(rounded estimate)
camera – small handicam $300
*professional cameras – $2-3,000
white room - $600
Total: $4,005
Again, this is just a proposal. I can already see that you guys got a head start on where you want to go, but this is an alternative idea in case you want to reach for something else. Hopefully someone notices this post....anyone?

YES!!!!
I have completed one of my projects out of the two!!! With a weekend filled with Sorority Recruitment Sparkly goodness, this is an accomplishment...For me, at least. I'm also proud of the synopsis that I came up with the book. I might at well make it an actual story! Well...here goes....
Sixteen year old Cassie has got it all. A big house, great family, lovable friends, lots of money, and the perfect boyfriend. That is until she comes across an old book of horoscopes at the magazine rack. Unknowingly, whoever touches this book immediately has their fate sealed through its horoscopes. Her world turns upside down to right side up, from helping out her friends in a tragic breakup, to being ripped apart through sheer rage! In this romantic comedy, you’ll be finding yourself flipping page after page wanting to know what’s gonna happen next!

Bbblluueerrrgh....
I thought I had time to do homework this weekend....guess not. This Labor Day weekend, I went to Rush and picked out which sorority that I liked best. Today was the final day of recruitment and found out that I got accepted into Alpha Delta Pi! I'm actually really excited that I got in, if not overwhelmed. However it has served me the consequence of suffocation underneath that piles and piles of homework due.....may have to pull an all-nighter tonight...yippee....

My Self-Portrait
It looked A LOT cooler in my head, but....oh well. Here it is. I think it would've looked better with a higher quality camera.....and possibly not the really cheesy background. Possibly a do-over later, for my own purposes.
